The source of the bottled water "Rosienka" is the HTU-1 borehole, 252 meters deep, with an exploitable yield of 10.0 l.s^-1. The groundwater is accumulated in Mesozoic limestones and dolomites. Its replenishment source comes from rainfall.

The groundwater has exceptional quality, with an optimal composition for the human body and a temperature of 10.6 °C. The total mineralization of 554 mg.l^-1 is mainly composed of calcium ions (78 mg.l^-1), magnesium (40 mg.l^-1), and bicarbonates (348 mg.l^-1). The water has a very low sodium content (2.2 mg.l^-1). It contains no substances in amounts exceeding limits, indicating any pollution.

The excellent quality of the groundwater from the HTU-1 source and its exploitable quantity are determined by natural conditions. The limestones and dolomites are part of the hydrogeological structure, whose infiltration area is located in the Lúčanská Malá Fatra mountain range. There are no industrial or agricultural activities in the area.

Adequate rainfall and the high permeability of limestones and dolomites ensure good replenishment of the extracted amounts of groundwater.
